Here at Autism Behavioral Therapies, we have an outstanding team of therapists. We could provide any number of various therapies and services, but we have chosen to specialize in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy.
Why ABA? Research has consistently demonstrated that ABA is the most effective therapy approach for children on the autism spectrum. When ABA therapy is practiced by qualified individuals with state-of-the-art reporting systems, it produces unparalleled results.
Surgeon General Endorsement
United States Surgeon General David Satcher, MD, PhD, has endorsed intensive behavioral intervention for individuals with autism. “Mental Health: A Report of the Surgeon General” states, "Thirty years of research demonstrated the efficacy of applied behavioral methods in reducing inappropriate behavior and in increasing communication, learning, and appropriate social behavior."
The Magic Formula
Our approach to providing ABA therapy emphasizes excellence and simplicity.
At Autism Behavioral Therapies, we strive to:
• Fill our team with experienced and hard-working therapists and staff;
• Effectively utilize state-of-the-art reporting systems;
• Meet each client’s unique needs by constantly studying our data and adjusting their program accordingly.
What do you want for your child?
Sometimes the small difficulties we face each day make it hard to see the big picture. Where do you envision your child a year from now, three years from now, ten years from now? When everyday functioning is a struggle for your child, it can be hard to envision them living fulfilling, independent lives as adults. With locations now in Madison, Chicago, and Milwaukee, autism therapies is our specialty.
At Autism Behavioral Therapies, our overarching goal is to help your child gain independence and life skills through the careful implementation of Applied Behavioral Analysis.
At Autism Behavioral Therapies we believe that each child is a unique individual with a unique learning style. We therefore design comprehensive, individualized ABA programs to meet the specific needs of each child and his /her family. The team which includes the child’s family determinates the number of days and hours based on various factors including but not limited to other activities and therapies including the length of the child’s school day, the skills needed to be acquired and the disruptive behaviors. We use the ABLLS-R (Assessment of Basic Language and Learner Skills – Revised) and the VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) to determine actual skills with the goal to broaden the child’s repertoire to understand and communicate more effectively. We then gather data to assess the child’s behavior and determine his deficit skills. This assessment generates an intervention plan addressing the maladaptive behaviors by introducing new positive behaviors and skills that can be generalized to create a positive change in behavior.
